![]() Kayla, companion to Thea Cornelia Beavers and Bruce Beavers, was an important part of The Village Vets family. Over the last couple of years, she battled a chronic liver disease which eventually took its toll. She was strong, happy, and supportive to the very end... and an inspiration to both two and four legged beings. She passed quietly at her Oakhurst/Decatur home on the afternoon on November 1, 2003, surrounded by people she loved and who loved her. Thea's words put it best: "She taught us a great deal about love, loyalty, and kindness. She enriched the lives of all of those she came in contact with. Her spirit will comfort us the rest of our lives." Thea came into the Decatur office on December 2, 2003. She wanted to make a donation in Kayla's memory, and to aid in our quest to help provide adequate care for homeless and rescued animals. From that initial donation, Kayla's Fund was born. Donations and proceeds towards this fund will be used towards surgical procedures, medical care, and medication for those animals who don't have a home of their own; and also towards our efforts to find these pets suitable owners. No donation is too big or too small; there are lots of animals who need our help. Please stop in to make a donation (cash, check, or credit card), or send your donation (checks only) to: Kayla's Fund Attn: Donald Langley The Village Vets of Decatur 308 East Howard Avenue Decatur, GA 30030 (A receipt will be sent to your return address) Thank you!
